What is the Harmful Practices E-Learning tool?

We have developed an E-Learning on harmful practices, the first of its kind in the world, designed to improve the knowledge, skills, and practices of multi-agency professionals. This tool will help you approach harmful practices holistically. Regardless of the harmful practice you encounter in your profession, you will be able to apply the knowledge gained from this resource.

Who is the E-Learning aimed at?

The tool has been designed for multi-agency professionals, ranging from those working on the front line with children, young people, and families to strategic leaders who are developing safeguarding strategies to end harmful practices.

Do I have to pay to use the Harmful Practices E-Learning Tool?

Yes – if you are an organisation hoping to have multiple members of your team or organisations access the E-Learning, please contact info@nationalfgmcentre.org.uk.

If you are hoping to use it as an individual, we are hoping this feature will be available in the future.

I work for an NGO or charity, can I get a discount on using the tool?

Do I have to complete the E-Learning in one sitting?

No – we have designed the e-learning to offer flexibility, allowing you to log in and out at your convenience, and giving you the time you need to digest the information.

Can I do this E-Learning with my colleagues?

Whilst we encourage team work to improve practice, this e-learning has been designed to empower individual practitioners to improve their practice when working on harmful practices.

How confidential is my data – for example, my login details? Is this data stored by the National FGM Centre?

We use google analytics to track general information, such as how many people access the tool, what pages they visit (start, results etc), and how long they spend on the tool. We don’t store your data, but for more information, please see our privacy notice.

Can I share my password for the E-Learning with a colleague?

No – users are given individual access, and the dissemination of passwords to access the tool is considered a breach of data protection.

How do I give feedback on the E-Learning Tool?

Once you have completed the tool, you will be directed to complete a short 5-minute survey. This is really important to us and will enable us to continue to develop the tool.

Can I use the materials and information in the E-Learning to deliver training programmes, or disseminate to staff/colleagues?
