Team Manager - London

This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the National FGM Centre. Working across London, you will lead on supporting the objectives of the National FGM Centre.

The Team Manager will be responsible for managing Social Workers and Senior Social Workers located across a number of local authorities in London. The post holder may also be required to hold a small caseload of more complex cases in order to maintain their skills in direct work.

We are looking for someone who wants to progress their career. Social work qualified, you will have extensive post qualification experience of working across a range of cases, from early help to complex child protection. As Team Manager, you will be working in a multi-agency environment managing a geographically dispersed team of social workers based in local authorities, some with delegated authority, dealing with a wide range of cases including complex child protection and court cases. Specialist training to build knowledge will be provided.

We are looking for someone dynamic, who wants to broaden their experience, someone interested in making a difference to the lives of children and families. Social work qualified, you will be able to work independently, work in a multi-agency environment and be confident in your practice. You will need experience of working on a range of cases, from early help to complex child protection.

You will have a manageable caseload with high quality support from your manager. Specialist training to build knowledge will be provided. You will also be given the opportunity to give support in the delivery of training and play a leading role in the development of innovative practices and policies.

FGM Project Worker - Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service to be delivered by Barnardo’s on behalf of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Staffordshire. The PCC has received funding through the Home Office Violence against Women and Girls Fund to develop an effective, consistent, co-ordinated and culturally sensitive Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) service across the City of Stoke-on-Trent and the County of Staffordshire.

The focus of the service in Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent is to develop appropriate and sustainable responses to FGM.  This will include increasing the awareness of FGM for practitioners and communities and providing support to potential victims of FGM and their families.
