REDBRIDGE WOMEN: SHAPING OUR FUTURE

8TH MARCH 2017 – (REDBRIDGE, LONDON)

Part of a series of initiatives by Terrence Higgins Trust aimed at women, this important free event will explore issues affecting the holistic wellbeing of women of all cultures, including African and BME women living or working in Redbridge. Topics include: faith, culture and family, domestic violence, emotional resilience, life and career planning, healthy loving relationships, FGM, and HIV and sexual health.

FGM LEARNING SEMINARS AND BLOODLINES PRODUCTIONS

VARIOUS DATES AND LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT FEBRUARY AND MARCH

The National FGM Centre and various partners from our six local authorities are hosting learning seminars throughout February and March. The seminars are aimed at all professionals working with families and children and those with strategic input as well. The poster below is for a Basildon, Essex Learning Seminar. Bloodlines is an interactive theatre piece that encourages the audience to consider the real life dilemmas and situations professionals and families may face. No role play is required.

Orchid Project has a vision of a world free from female genital cutting (FGM). Our mission is to foster and accelerate the abandonment of FGC around the world.

FGC contravenes human, health, child and women’s rights. This seminar will broadly cover where FGM is practised, How FGM affects a girl throughout her life, how FGM is ending and more.
